Dr. Jane Reed established the practice in 1985. She has extensive experience in gynecological surgery, including da Vinci Robotic surgery, and procedures for pelvic floor disorders and incontinence. Dr. Reed did her undergraduate education at Texas A&M University, and graduated with honors in l975, with a B.S, in Biology. She then pursued a PhD in Neurophysiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for two years. During that time, she discovered that caring for patients was her passion, rather than pure research. She completed her medical school training at the University of Texas at Houston in 1981, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT affiliated hospitals (Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson, and Brackenridge in Austin) in 1985. She has been board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1987, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has previously served as president of the Medical Staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital, The Woodlands, and was selected "Physician of the Year" in 1994.
She is married and has two grown sons. She and her husband enjoy riding their Harleys, Scuba Diving, and spending free time with friends and family.
Tametra L. Johnson-Garnier, M.D.
Dr. Tametra Johnson-Garnier is our newest addition to Specialists for Women. She joined our practice in August of 2009. She graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University of LA in 2001 where she held a Biology major and Chemistry minor. She was very active in community service during medical school at LSU-School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA where she obtained a doctorate of medicine in 2005. She then went on to complete her residency training at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX in 2009. She was chosen by her peers to serve as interim administrative chief resident during her final year of residency. She has participated in medical research throughout her educational training, and most recently presented her research on medical students' experience on an OB-GYN rotation at the 16th Annual TAOG TX Section Junior Fellow Research Symposium in Fort Worth, TX. She has also served as the author of several publications in Case Files OB-GYN study aides designed for medical and graduate students. She has extensive experience in managing obstetrical complications such as preterm labor, preterm rupture of membranes, and high blood pressure and diabetes in pregnancy. She enjoys working with patients of all ages ranging from Adolescent Gynecology through the menopausal years.Dr. Johnson-Garnier has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery including in office hysteroscopy, endometrial ablations, and Essure tubal occlusions for permanent sterilization;as well as, minimally invasive hysterectomy, myomectomy (fibroid removal) and female urinary incontinence procedures. Dr. Johnson-Garnier is a member of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Montgomery County Medical Society. She just recently married her wonderful husband Joshua in October of 2009. In her spare time, she enjoys community service, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Joan has over 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. She has worked in a variety of settings including home health, school nursing, and surgery. Joan found her passion in women’s health in 1993. She enjoys providing healthcare to women of all ages, including Well Woman visits, gynecological problem visits, and office procedures. In addition, she is a skilled surgical assistant, and a valued member of the Specialists for Women surgical team.
Joan believes that women should be able to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare, and her patients appreciate her compassionate care and advice.
